Make Your Rental Property More Energy Efficient

The sweltering, high heat of summer is in full effect. How can you keep your rental property cool while staying budget conscious? It can be easy to crank the A/C to cool off your unit, but that comes with a heavy price tag. Try some of our tips this summer to ensure your units are staying cool, without the drastic increase in your monthly bills.

  1. Install Interior blinds- Block the sunlight from entering your unit, leading to significant heat reduction.
  2. Change the A/C filter- A dirty filter can force the A/C system to work harder, leading to unnecessary energy expenditure.
  3. Utilize Energy Efficient Light Bulbs- These light bulbs produce much less heat than average, incandescent bulbs.
  4. Turn On Ceiling Fans- Make sure the fans are rotating counter-clockwise and hang 10-12” from the ceiling for the best air flow.
